Helpful Tips for Success

Small habits make a big difference when it comes to sustainable weight loss.

Weigh Yourself Daily

Daily weigh-ins help build awareness and allow you to make small adjustments before small changes become bigger setbacks.

A digital scale that measures body fat and muscle mass can also help you track changes in body composition — not just the number on the scale.

Track Your Food Intake

Tracking your meals can dramatically improve weight loss success by helping you stay aware of your calorie intake.

Popular apps include:

Noom
Lose It!
MyFitnessPal

These tools make it easier to stay within a healthy, sustainable calorie deficit.

Supplies for Injections

If your medication is injectable, you’ll need a few basic supplies.

Insulin syringes
Alcohol wipes

Insulin syringes are typically available without a prescription at most pharmacies or drugstores.

Be sure to watch the injection tutorial video below for step-by-step instructions.

  • No. All visits are conducted virtually, and medication is shipped directly to you.

This makes treatment convenient and accessible from home.

  • I charge on a monthly subscription basis. You may cancel at any time prior to the charge. Once you are charged, I will order your medications. Log in to your account to cancel or resubscribe.

  • Medication from the pharmacy may take approximately five business days. The pharmacy will email you a tracking number once your medication ships. I recommend setting up text alerts with your local pharmacy.

  • The most common side effects are mild and temporary.

    They may include:
    • Nausea
    • Constipation
    • Fatigue
    • Feeling full quickly

These symptoms usually improve as your body adjusts to the medication.

Remember to eat slowly and smaller portions. Overeating will cause you to have more stomach upset.

Contact me for recommendations to manage any symptoms.

  • If you experience side effects, you can message your nurse practitioner through the secure patient portal.

Many side effects can be improved with small adjustments to eating habits, hydration, or dosing.

  • Everyone responds differently, but many patients begin noticing changes in appetite within the first 1–2 weeks.

Weight loss often becomes more noticeable after the first month as medication doses gradually increase and healthy habits take hold.

  • I recommend 31G 1cc 5/16” syringe. You can purchase these at Amazon or any local pharmacy.

  • These medications should be kept cold and stored in the refrigerator in their original packaging containing the medication label instructions.

  • The patient medication label contains directions. Watch the video below for how to give a shot from a vial. The medications must be increased slowly. Start with the lower dose for 4 doses (month one). Increase to the higher dose on your 5th dose (month two). If you have not taken a dose in over 9 days, then you must start at the lower dose and titrate up again.

  • Watch the short video below for instructions on how to give yourself a shot.

  • You may take these medications up to 48 hours early. You are more likely to get side effects when taking the medication early.

  • There is no strict diet required.

However, focusing on protein, whole foods, and a sustainable calorie deficit will significantly improve your results.

We’ll help guide you toward habits that support long-term metabolic health.

  • Exercise is not required to lose weight, but it greatly improves overall health and helps preserve muscle while losing fat.

Even simple activities like walking or strength training a few times per week can make a big difference.

  • Weight management is a long-term process.

Some patients stay on medication for several months, while others continue longer to support metabolic health and weight maintenance.

Your treatment plan will be personalized based on your goals and progress.

  • You may stop the medication once you achieve goal weight, but some patients continue to take a small weekly dose to maintain appetite suppression.

  • Yes. There are no contracts.

What to Expect in Your First Month

Starting GLP-1 medication is the beginning of a process — not an overnight change. The first month is about helping your body adjust while you begin building sustainable habits.

Here’s what most patients experience.

Week 1: Getting Started

Your first week is about letting your body adjust to the medication.

Many patients notice:
• A reduced appetite
• Feeling full faster
• Less “food noise” or constant thoughts about food

Some people experience mild side effects like nausea or fatigue at first, but these are usually temporary and improve as your body adjusts.

Tip:
Eat slowly, prioritize protein, and stop eating when you feel comfortably full.

Week 2: Appetite Changes

By the second week, many patients start to notice clearer appetite control.

You may find:
• Smaller portions feel satisfying
• Cravings are easier to manage
• Snacking decreases naturally

Some people begin to see small changes on the scale, while others notice changes in hunger before weight loss begins.

Both are normal.

Week 3: Building Momentum

By week three, your body is becoming more accustomed to the medication.

This is a great time to focus on the habits that will support long-term success:

• Eating enough protein
• Drinking plenty of water
• Moving your body regularly
• Tracking your progress

Many patients begin to notice their clothes fitting differently during this stage.

Week 4: Evaluating Progress

At the one-month mark, we look at how your body is responding.

This includes:
• Your weight trend
• Your appetite control
• Any side effects
• Your overall progress

From there, we may adjust your medication dose or continue your current plan.

Remember: sustainable weight loss is gradual. The goal is not rapid changes — it’s long-term metabolic health and lasting results.
